Thank you for
visiting the WWII War Time Memories
blog. We have had readers from Russia, Switzerland, Great Britain, Belgium,
United States, and other countries visit the blog thus far. Trying to find WWII
Veterans from foreign countries has been quite tough and I want to ask my
readers to please send me the contact info for any WWII Veterans you know who
would like to be featured on my blog. You can be of the utmost help in doing
so. Feel free to leave this information as a comment here on the blog site or
by emailing me at aengleford@gmail.com
.
My hope is to
have a large base of faithful readers and to collect enough war stories to turn
the blog into a book. I hope that you will continue to read the blog on a
regular basis and will let your friends know of it as well. The Veterans did
the serving, I do the writing, but you can help me make connections with other
Veterans.
On another
note: My paternal grandfather, who was a WWII Veteran, passed away on 16
January 2012. He was and will continue to be the reason why I chose to pursue
this project. I am currently working on compiling his war story and it is very
likely that he will be the ONLY WWII Veteran featured on this blog who was not living at the time the feature was written. The only reason I did not begin with his story is because of the
limited information I have on his service. However, regardless of how little
information I have to go on….you can expect to soon read what we know about his
service.
My grandfather recently past and he was a WWII Vet. We found this old hat among his belongings. But we cant find any info about it. Thought someone here might would know something about it. It's some kind of german officers hat. Can i post pics of it on here. would that be ok?
